Once you join the Alliance, Crossroads Adaptive Athletic Alliance will advertise your organization’s URL on our site, announce events your organization sponsors through our social media accounts, provide some collateral materials for fundraising events, offer preference for seminars, preference for event planning support when incorporating adaptive athletes, preference for detailed questions you or your athletes may have as you begin to adapt new movements, and gym grant opportunities for adaptive equipment that will enable you to better train your athletes.


What does it take to become an Alliance Gym?

  1. Enthusiastic desire to work as an advocate for adaptive athlete inclusion in sports and fitness.
  2. Community atmosphere of inclusion – e.g. when both adaptive and able-bodied athletes workout, not separating classes or areas for adaptive athletes but full inclusion of all athletes in daily programming, coaching, and WODs
  3. Raise $500 per year for the Crossroads Adaptive Athletic Alliance.
  4. Actively participate in Crossroads discussions as athletes or coaches
    • Active participation is defined as at least 3 posts per quarter in our News section or on social media
    • Posts can be sharing of best practices, latest accomplishments, links to YouTube, Facebook or other social media showing similar, or advice solicitation from other athletes and coaches
    • Additionally, providing feedback to make discussions and education more useful and accessible is welcome
  5. Comply with Crossroads Alliance Affiliate Facility suggestions
    • ADA compliance.
    • Presence of an emergency evacuation plan with contingencies for adaptive athletes where needed.
    • Ability (through innovation or equipment) to readily adapt daily programming
  6. At least one coaching staff member attend and pass Crossroads Adaptive Coaching Seminar. (waived until 2017)

What does it take to become an Alliance Nonprofit?

  1. Mission in alignment with Crossroads Adaptive Athletic Alliance mission.
  2. Enthusiastic desire to work as an advocate for adaptive athlete inclusion in sports and fitness.
  3. Host or support at least one event per year with an “adaptive” division.
  4. Actively participate in Crossroads discussions as athletes or coaches or professionals
    • Active participation is defined as at least 3 posts per quarter
    • Posts can be sharing of best practices, latest accomplishments, links to YouTube, Facebook or other social media showing similar, or advice solicitation from other athletes and coaches
    • Additionally, providing feedback to make discussions/education more useful and accessible is welcome
  5. Add Crossroads Adaptive Athletic Alliance’s URL to your website; follow us on Twitter and Instagram, like us on FaceBook.

What does it take to become an Alliance Company?

  1. Enthusiastic desire to work as an advocate for adaptive athlete inclusion in sports and fitness.
  2. Host or support at least one event per year with an “adaptive” division.
  3. Raise or donate $1,000 per year to the Crossroads Adaptive Athletic Alliance.
  4. Actively participate in Crossroads discussions as athletes or coaches or professionals
    • Active participation is defined as at least 3 posts per quarter
    • Posts can be sharing of best practices, latest accomplishments, links to YouTube, Facebook or other social media showing similar, or advice solicitation from other athletes and coaches
    • Additionally, providing feedback to make discussions/education more useful and accessible is welcome
